To mark the farewell for the Melbourne Shluchim that spent a week running a day camp and learning programs for the community, a special breakfast and learning program took place at Tzemach Tzedek.
The morning started with a special Chassidus shiur from Rabbi Yitzchok Barber.
Following davening a special breakfast was served including hot waffles and a variety of salmon, bagels, scrambled eggs and more.
The first session included Rabbi Chanan, Rabbi of Adass Congregation and Rabbi Berel Light, KTC Teacher.
Whilst the main shul was listening to the lectures a special program was being run for the boys with the Melbourne Shluchim, Mendel Weinbaum, Mendel Okonov, Zalman Goodman, Mendel Radar, Aryeh Leib Gorowitz and Mendel Gurary.
Downstairs, Mrs. Chaya Radar (Markovits) gave a shiur to the high school girls.
Later, a second session took place, including lectures from Rabbi Aron Moss, Rabbi of Nefesh and Rabbi Benjy Simons, teacher at KTC as well as a special arts and crafts by Rivky Lazarus.
The food was prepared by Shmaryahu Bowdre and Sreuvi Lazarus.
The program coordinator Hershel Tuvel was grateful to everyone that attended as well as those that gave the shiurim.
He says the community should look out for another Breakfast Learning program before Rosh Hashanah.

The next morning they were up at 7am giving chassidus shiur to yungerleit. At 8.30am started Cocoa Club for the primary and high school boys, followed by davening and a full day of day camp. During their breaks they would call Anash and invite them to come to shiurim that took place at nights between 7.30-9,30pm. Then each night they arranged a farbrengen for different age groups and this went on day… Read more »
This is beautiful – these Bochurim were entrusted by the Rebbe and have the Koach of the Rebbe do Ker A Velt and b”h the Australia community does and always has understood and appreciates this concept. As one who has been around other Lubavitch communities and Yeshivos, it pains me when ‘Bochurim Shluchim’ arrive to their assigned Yeshiva etc. in the begining of the year, and they are looked at as the new burden by the community or even by the hanholah, because maybe they will ch”v fundraise from you or the like, or ask you for a favor- all… Read more »
The lectures were fantastic and the food that was prepared was beyond anyone expectations. Thank you Hershel Tuvel for making another very successful learning program at Tzemach Tzedek.
