Gan Yisroel for European Tzeirei Hashluchos in Sweden is gearing up for winter camp.
The camp is for girls between 8 and 15 years old, beginning Monday 11 Teves (24 December) until Thursday 21 Teves, ( 3 January).
The winter camp activities include farbrengens, Tanya baal peh, shiurim, nigunim, games, skiing, ice skating, swimming, night activities, trips, drama, fireside singing, arts and crafts and more. It provides the chance for girls to make new friends, similar to themselves, which is of great importance to the campers, many of whom are on Shlichus in isolated locations.
“Tzeirei Hashluchos is a place where the little shluchalach meet the Rebbe for real” said a staff member, who is returning for this winter. “It’s incredible to see.”
“My children come home with a new chayus each time to go on with their Shlichus and to be true chassidim of the Rebbe, ” says Chana Sara Danow from Leeds, who will be once again be sending her daughters to camp this winter.
Gan Yisroel for European Tzeirei Hashluchos in Sweden began in 5769 as a joint project of Merkos Leinyonei Chinuch and Chabad of Sweden, directed by Rabbi Alexander and Leah Namdar. During winter and summer camps of 5772, B”H over 100 campers from 33 cities around Europe attended, BH.
“Camp is an important part of a Chassidishe chinuch, ” says Rabbi Alexander Namdar, who directs the camp with his wife Leah. ” The greatest asset is our staff, who are dedicated, warm, caring and full of chayus.”
Gothenburg, Sweden, called the heart of Scandinavia, is renowned for its clean air, pure water, and close proximity to skiing and other winter sports. The campsite lies at the heart of miles of untouched forest and nature reserves. There is a private entrance from the campsite leading into the famous Botanical Gardens, with beautiful scenery, waterfalls and majestic trees.
The campsite is on a large piece of land, with an indoor heated swimming pool. Getzel and Pretzel, the camp’s furry little goats are still alive and well, now in their barn on the camp grounds, munching happily on oats as they await camp’s arrival.
Interested parents should register asap, since only one camp building will be available during the winter, so places are more limited, and registration is filling up quickly.
