A bevy of leading London firms, including Deloitte LLP, Taylor Wessing, Mishcon de Reya, and Speechly Bircham, are partnering with Chabad-Lubavitch UK, to bring a large 48-square meter sukkah to the fast-expanding New Street Square development in The City.
According to Rabbi Bentzi Sudak, this is the first time such an impermanent structure has been built on such a scale for public use in that section of the British capital.
It’s being featured as part of Deloitte’s Diversity Week, and will be available for use throughout the weeklong holiday of Sukkot, which begins Wednesday night.
“Sukkot is all about celebrating the unity of the human race and how we are all dependent on the same Divine protection,” said Sudak.
“This project is sure to enliven the Jewish pride among the many city dwellers and workers who flock to New Street Square every day.
“I must thank a diverse group of individuals, who came together to ensure that there will be a symbol of unity at New Street Square this year,” he added.
