Europe is finally coming around to the truth.
The European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton has blamed Gaza’s ruling terrorist group Hamas for the current battle with Israel on Friday.
“The rocket attacks by Hamas and other factions in Gaza, which began this current crisis are totally unacceptable for any government and must stop,” she said.
“Israel has the right to protect its population from these kind of attacks. I urge Israel to ensure that its response is proportionate,” she said, according to the Jerusalem Post.
Supporting her opinion was British Foreign Secretary William Hague who said Hamas bore “principal responsibility” for spiraling violence.
The Foreign Secretary also urged Tel Aviv to reduce tension and avoid civilian casualties – but stopped short of demanding an end to its air strikes.
President Barack Obama spoke Wednesday on the phone with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressing the U.S.’s support for Israel’s right to self-defense in light of the barrage of rocket attacks being launched from Gaza against Israeli civilians.
The President urged Prime Minister Netanyahu to make every effort to avoid civilian casualties, a White House statement said. “The two agreed that Hamas needs to stop its attacks on Israel to allow the situation to de-escalate.”
The most straight-forward voice on this issue was Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, one of the most staunch supporters of Israel in the world arena, who called Hamas a “terrorist group.”
“We condemn this terrorist group’s attacks against Israel. We recognize and support Israel’s right to defend itself against such terrorist attacks,” Harper said during a news conference in Quebec City Friday.
Not surprising was the reaction of U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon who called on Israel to “exercise maximum restraint,” and Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Kandil who denounces Israel’s attacks as “aggression.”
And Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, of course, decried Israel’s air strikes against “innocent people in Gaza” and claimed it was a stunt ahead of Israeli elections.

What do we care what the nations say? Why do we pay attention to them? They hate us, they would like nothing better then to see the end of us and we follow every utterance of theirs as if our lives depend on it! Did the Rebbe not teach us all along not to pay attention to them?
Negotiations should include Israel getting all the land back they traded for peace-immediately!
The cancer, called Hamas, needs to be eradicated completely. Utterly and completely.
