At the end of January 2023, I embarked on a new beginning at Merkos Seminary eagerly anticipating the experiences that awaited me.
Arriving on erev Shabbos, I was greeted by excited girls who were eager to meet and get to know me. The dorms exuded a sense of beauty and excitement. The warm and accepting atmosphere of Merkos has truly enabled me to grow at a genuine pace where I feel supported and encouraged to make the learning and chassidishkeit real. Merkos is such a unique place where girls from both very frum backgrounds and those consolidating their path meet at a crossroads of shared friendship, discussions, learning and growth. The teachers and Honhala are available to support us in our seminary year and encourage us to reach our true potential in both learning and personal growth.
Merkos has become a haven where my connection to Hashem and my Yiddishkeit has flourished like never before. Immersed in this environment conducive to learning, I find myself growing and evolving every single day. The morning classes led by Rabbi Hoch set the stage for a beautiful start to each day. The afternoon sessions, featuring various teachers from the community, are both thought-provoking and captivating. In the evenings, esteemed Rabbis and Rebbetzins grace our dorms, sharing incredible Torah wisdom. These classes encompass a range of subjects, including teachings of the Bal Shem Tov, engaging Question and Answer sessions, insights on Bayis Yehudi, and weekly Farbrengens with distinguished guests. This past Shabbos we had a shabbaton in the stunning Australian outback where we enjoyed a most fun and uplifting Shabbos away.
Being part of the Merkos family has instilled in me a profound sense of belonging. I feel truly at home in this special place that I was blessed to discover. The gratitude I have for everything Merkos has done for me knows no bounds, and I am filled with hope that my journey will continue to ascend to new heights. Moreover, I am reminded of the profound teachings and legacy of the Rebbe, which have undoubtedly shaped the spirit of Merkos and continue to inspire its students.
Merkos once again will be opening its doors in Elul. For girls seeking a seminary where you can really thrive in a more personalized setting then Merkos may be the perfect fit. For this year 5784 (2023-24), it’s not too late to apply and interview
