Bochurim Of Tzeirei Hashluchim Tzfat and Kfar Chabad commemorated the 60th yartzeit of Reb Yisroel Aryeh Leib, the Rebbe’s brother, which took place last shabbos, Yud-Gimmel Iyar, at Campus Yisroel Aryeh Leib in Tzfat.
Friday afternoon, after Mivtzoim in the towns surrounding Tzfat, the Talmidim of Yeshivas Tzeirei Hashluchim went to the Beis Hachaim to visit the Tzion of Reb Yisroel Aryeh Leib, the Rebbe’s brother, which took place last shabbos, Yud-Gimmel Iyar. The Talmidim said tehillim and sang negunim at the tzion before returning to Yeshiva to get ready for Shabbos.
On their return to Yeshiva the talmidim were welcomed with a special guest Shliach, Rabbi Shaul Wilhelm, the Rebbe’s Shliach in Oslo, Norway.
“With our mosod having the Zchus to be called by the Rebbe’s brother’s name and Shabbos being 60 years since the Yartzeit, we couldn’t let it pass as a regular Shabbos. Bringing a Shliach to join us for Shabbos was the least we could do,” Rabbi Menachem Traxler, the Yeshiva administrator, told a Bochur as to the simple question of “why.”
In addition, shortly before Shabbos, a bus rolled up to the Yeshiva and the shiur gimmel of Tomchei Temimim Kfar Chabad came out with their Mashpia Rabbi Efraim Dimochovsky, who joined the Yeshiva as well.
Friday night before seder nigunim Rabbi Wilhelm spoke to the Talmidim about the special nachas ruach the Rebbe had when he got regards from people that went to visit his brother’s Tzion. He repeated a special answer that the Talmidei Hashluchim of Toras Emes 5751 received when they went up to Tzfat for Shabbos 13 Iyar.
Throughout Shabbos the Bochurim learned mishnayos of the name of R’ Yisroel Aryeh Leib and the bochurim sat throught the entire afternoon and fabrenged together to strengthen their hiskashrus specifically on a day which meant so much to the Rebbe.
Motzei Shabbos before Rabbi Wilhelm went back to his makom Hashlichus, a Talmid went around to all the Talmidim in the yeshiva with a suitcase and on his own initiative asked them to give some nosh or treats that they might have to send to their fellow Tzeirei Hashluchim in Oslo.
In a thank you letter Rabbi Wilhelm sent to the Talmidim on his return to Oslo he wrote the following: “Our kids first just stood there wide-eyed, then jumped for joy! When they wanted to know where and how I managed to get all this, I simply told them, your older brothers arranged this for you.”
