Avi Begun, a new Jewish singer from Woodmere, New York, has released his first single in time before Pesach and music is not heard during the Sefirah mourning period.
Begun has composed the song title “Dayenu,” based on the appreciative words of the Haggadah. Musical arrangements and piano are by the legendary Yaron Gershovsky.
The song was recoded at AJ Greenwald‘s Studio X in New York and is available for free download at MostlyMusic.com.
“This latest tragedy in Toulouse which took the lives of four precious souls shocked the entire world and will likely remain in our hearts forever,” says the 23 year-old Begun who graduated Touro College in Queens.
Rabbi Jonathan Sandler, 30; his two sons, Arye, 6, and Gabriel, 3; and Miriam Monsonego, 8, were murdered in cold blood in front of the Otzar Hatorah Jewish school in France.
“I felt it was appropriate to dedicate this song in memory of the four Kedoshim who were murdered Al Kiddush Hashem,” he said. “We should only see the Haggadah’s ultimate Dayenu so we can rejoice once again with all the departed souls.”
He asked that fans of the song donate to the families of the victims at globaljewish.org

why wud u say something like that?
Sorry Incorrect, it really does not matter but Avi is Lubavitch, his Grand Parents are Head Shluchim in SP Brazil, their grand father was the famous ” Reb Itchelle the Masmid ” the Frierdiker Rebbe’s Shliach, Also has an uncle which is the Rebbe”s Schliach in Cheviot Hills California. Avi’s Shlichus is definitely with his music which brings us all together , when H’B see’s Achdus between us, we all become vessels for the Brochos.
Chag Sameach, Chatzlocha Rabba.
Let’s follow Avi’s lead and be part of the solutions.
You are the Best. Wow , More…………
I know for a fact that he’s Lubavitch! His grandfather was the first rabbi who was sent by the Rebbe to go on shlichus in Brazil and has been there over 50 years…
he is from the five towns and is not lubavitch. but who cares- hes frum and has a very nice voice

#3..People write about hope, love, faith, beauty and so much more..unfortunately life is full of tragedies so songs are written about that as well. We should all stop to think how grateful we should be for the smallest joys in our lives..Never take anything or anyone for granted. Not for a split second..
Avi has been a sensation since he was a child. Its nice to see that his first single is strictly for charity. WAY TO GO AVI!!!
Sing with it all your heart, just the way i taught you to 🙂
