Chabad Shluchos coming in early for the annual International Kinus convention will have anywhere from 6 to 10 inches of snow greeting them in Brooklyn, NY.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the city, including western Long Island, from noon Tuesday through 6 AM Wednesday.
Forecasters say the snow will be accompanied by strong winds. The blowing and drifting snow will cause hazardous travel and walking conditions across the area.
The conference for Chabad women running Chabad centers, educational and humanitarian institutions is typically met with cold weather as it is held in connection with 22 Shevat, yartzeit of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson OBM.
Mayor Bill de Blasio said the city has activated all of its emergency preparation systems. Alternate side parking is suspended in New York City on Tuesday.
Though skies will clear on Wednesday, the frigid temperatures won’t depart the tri-state area until the end of the week, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Greater New Yorkers and visitors were advised to get used to the cold weather, as temperatures won’t rise above freezing until next Monday.

Jet blue cancelled all flights from every where coming In to NY
there is no way you could make the Kinus in the summer because chof beis shvat is in the winter (…besides for the south….)
Hope all out of town Shluchos and Seminary girls make it to the Convention and Interviews . In L.A. all Jetblue flights were canceled for today and tomorrow due to the snowstorm and no flights available till Friday.

I always feel so bad when the Shluchos arrrive and have to shlep their strollers through the snow and the cold. Maybe they should make the kinus at a warmer time of the year?
