Two sisters, Maya Dee (21) and Rina Dee (16) were murdered, and their mother was critically wounded on Friday – first day of Chol Hamoed Pesach in Israel – in a shooting attack at the Moshav Hamra intersection of Rt. 57 in the Jordan Valley.
Their mother Lucy Dee (Leah bat Tzipora) is fighting for her life in Jerusalem’s Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds to her upper body.
The Dee family made Aliyah from England, and all are British citizens, according to the UK Foreign Office. The father, Leo Dee, was a congregational rabbi in Hendon and Radlett United Synagogue.
The shooting attack took place at the [Moshav] Hamra intersection on Route 57 in the Jordan Valley. Rabbi Dee was in a second car driving right in front of his wife and daughters when they were attacked by a Palestinian Authority terrorist who opened fire at their vehicle.
At least 22 spent bullet shells were found at the scene following the shooting. The gunman and his accomplices are still at large.
Efrat Mayor Oded Revivi wrote, “It is with great sadness that we received the update on a shocking attack in which terrorists shot at a vehicle containing a mother and her two daughters, residents of Efrat. The two daughters were murdered and the mother is in critical condition. The father of the family who was driving in another vehicle in front turned around and witnessed the efforts to care for his wife and daughters. The council, the welfare and education department accompany the family members, are in contact with the welfare personnel in the Jordan Valley who are near the father of the family and his children. Welfare teams from the Efrat Council are on their way to the hospital and the Valley. The head of the council is in contact with all the parties.”
Police spokesman Eli Levy told Khan 11: “There are scans in the area to find out if it was a terrorist cell. The IDF is leading the investigation.”
He then added: “We are in Ramadan season, with a lot of incitement to terrorism on social media.”
A memorial service was held on Saturday night after the conclusion of Shabbat at the Zayit Ra’anan synagogue in Efrat.
The Dee family issued a statement late Saturday night, explaining the route the two sisters will take on their final journey, and inviting supporters to line the route in their honor:
“Holy Land, cover not their blood.
“The levaya procession for our two precious girls, Maya and Rina Dee may Hashem avenge their blood, will take place tomorrow at 5 pm in the afternoon at the cemetery of Kfar Etzion.
“MADA ambulances transporting them will enter the northern gate of Efrat around 2-2:30 pm and make their way up Zayit in order to arrive and stop at the Dee home on Pitum Haktoret for a final farewell. From there the procession will continue on David HaMelech to the southern gate of Efrat to arrive at a building for the Tahara prior to arriving at the cemetery.
“Residents of Efrat and the Gush are encouraged to stand along the route of the ambulances while holding Israeli flags as a final tribute and farewell to our two precious and beloved Kedoshim.”

Distressing news.
Moshiach now
Utterly heartbreaking. “Eretz, al t’khasi domom!” [“(Holy) Land, do not ‘cover’ (fail to punish the spillers of) their blood!”] Please say Tehillim for the r’fuoh of their mother, Leah bas Tziporah.
Very very sad. The terror will hopefully be caught ASAP.
Hopefully with harsh punishment.
Unbelievable.
It’s crazy how America cares more about the Jewish citizens than Israel the “Jewish country” does🤔. What a terrible tragedy hashem should watch over Israel

Mother’s name listed elsewhere as Liora Bat Tzipora.
At the Levaya, I believe Rabbi Lee says her name is Leah bat Tzipora.
They got it wrong… Liora is not the correct name.
Amit just sent a message that the mother’s name is LEAH bat Tziporah, not Loira as first reported. Sorry for the confusion.
Liora is not her proper name.
The flyer posted states the Mom’s name as Leah bat Tzipora.
May Leah bat Tzipora have a speedy refuah shelaima and may Hashem protect all of am Yisroel.
