The Crown Heights Simcha Directory is the first in a new series designed to simplify the Simcha-making process.
“When planning a simcha, the first thing you’ll need to do is identify what is most important to you,” say the publishers of the Directory, “Economy or innovation, ‘balebatish’ or ‘to the hilt,’ artsy, basic, or anything in between…once you’ve figured that out, you’re ready to get down to work.”
The Simcha Directory has everything in a step by step approach, listed in order of how one would organize a Simcha: ‘The Basics,’ ‘The Extras,’ ‘Occasion Specific,’ and ‘For the Guests.’
Breaking from the traditional ad style, the listings are presented with fresh ideas with services offered for simchas and packed with the category specific information you need to start making choices. For example, the hall listings provide the size, seating capacity, type of kitchen, hashgachas permitted, sound system info and special features.
Built around the community, the Crown Heights version contains diverse categories like Sheitels and Upsherenish. The Bar Mitzvah section has hats, and where you can find garlic and sugar bags is in the Pidyon Haben section. The goal of each version will be to encompass the entire frum community while adopting the services, language and minhagim utilized in each.
Sold locally for a mere $2.00, it is well worth the price for the wealth of information.
90 pages of Gmachs and Community Service Organizations are presented as well, including the NY Tri-State area.
Currently production of Simcha Directories in 5 new locations are being worked on. For information about producing a Simcha Directory in your area please call 347.750.8680 or e-mail info@ForwardVision.info.
For a first time publication it has alot. Now that people see what it is the next one should be much more complete.
great little book adn love the handbag size of it but it’s missing a lot of info – the other simcha / wedding directory that the oholei torah hall sells is much more comprehensive, maybe these 2 should merge or something
