LOOK at the BIG picture of kiddushin (the goal of shidduchim, no?)… You’re building life (“BOnayim”) with someone – and not to sweat the small, narcissistic stuff like “Who am I?” or “Who is my spouse?” These “enlightened insights” we can never answer anyway – we’re never *always* the same person… same with our spouse… and same with our bonayim. Just get on with it – stop trying to self-protect (thereby really pushing others away… tohu). Apply your kabbalas oyl, netzach, and ahavas Yisroel. Commit, sacrifice, and LOOK to grow, contribute, and improve 🙂 Hatzlacha in doing Hashem’s will (“Be… Read more »

I was a bit older, (24,) when I got married 35 years ago….and it I would listen to your advice, I would not be married. I was not used to the looks and height of the guy…it annoyed me for a short time….and sometimes annoys me to this day…but believe me…I married the right guy. I listened to the rebbes letters where he writes that one should look at the big things, and even that the small things don’t seem right.

Wish someone had told me these things a generation ago when I was dating.

Will you share the recorded classes for a cheaper price?
January 27, 2014 3:57 pm

Maybe $50

NO lists

If anything, lists are a barrier to shiduch.

With lists, we seek yichus – and yichus becomes the focus, c’v – rather than seeing an amazing, G-d fearing person and their potential.

Hatzlacha, chesed, and Moshiach NOW!!!

beacuse A: It’s Manis Friedman, and B: It’s interesting, BUUT
B”H I’m married and therefore have no REAL reason to spend extra money (and multiply every dollar by 3.5) on a course that I don’t NEED.
OTOH – maybe it will help me help my friends?
Any way we can get access to it at some later point?

Annoyed
January 27, 2014 2:34 pm

While I’m a big fan of Rabbi Freidman I find this 10 minute segment a bit disconcerting Yes I agree with the ‘ if it annoys me ..it’s real’ line of thinking, But from my experience as a shadchan …many have gone out enough times after the ‘this annoys me terribly ‘phase to forgetting what it is that annoyed them to begin with, and going on to have beautiful marriages… So unless Rabbi F. talks about, in the rest of the audio, the signs that can be picked up if its truly the ‘annoying forever’type..or if it is the annoying type… Read more »
