On Sunday evening at approximately 7:00PM, Shmira and the NYPD received multiple reports of shots fired inside of Rutland Park, located at Rutland Rd. and Brooklyn Avenue in Crown Heights.
Thankfully, no one was injured.
The park was reportedly full of children playing at the time.
Two parked vehicle were struck by bullets, Shmira said.
The NYPD is currently investigating.
Where is Yakov Berman? Where is Eli Cohen? This happens year after year! Our kids don’t deserve this. Why isn’t there police sitting in front of the park? Instead they’re on Kingston and President.
It’s not the police that are the problem

The laws that release the repeat offenders back on the streets

The laws that prevent the people from permanently taking care of the problem themselves.

Our kids share the only two parks they can go to in Crown Heights with criminals and there is not one council-member or Jewish politician that cares.
Thank you Hashem our family and noone got hurt. I will need to work on getting my daughter (who was so scared) to go back to parks. The lawlessness is so shameful. Please there must be something we can do.

I’m sickened story after story after story. I’m sorry but this doesn’t happen nearly as often in other communities like it does here. I feel let down by the NYPD and by our community leaders.
