Before Nissi Estrin was born, the doctor told his parents he wouldn’t survive the pregnancy. His mother heard, and decided she would call him Nesanel, a gift from Hashem.
When Nissi Estrin was born, the doctor told his parents he wouldn’t survive to see sunset. His mother heard, and decided his nickname would be Nissi, “my miracle.”
Five years later, Nissi continues to defy all medical odds, with an infectious love of life that encourages, warms and inspires.
Over the past year, Nissi’s parents, Rabbi Elie and Chaya Rochel Estrin, invited filmmaker Bentzi Avtzon to travel to Florida to film their inspiring story.
“What most impressed me,” Avtzon says, “was Nissi’s parents’ willingness to honestly share the full story: the highs but also the lows. This film offers a remarkable vantage point into the full experience of what it takes to raise such a child.”
Add the Estrins, “We hope this film will share some of the insight we have gained over the past five years. Nissi’s story has taught us how to be truly thankful to Hashem and how much there is to be thankful about.”

The Estrins have also published a book about Nissi’s story, and they are available for speaking engagements at your Chabad House.
