Shmotkin Defends Himself

Rabbi Yisroel Shmotkin, Head Chabad Shliach of Wisconsin, dissented from a study about American Jewry's beliefs titled "Belonging Without Believing," which prompted a reaction printed in the Wisconsin Jewish Chronicle. Superb! A brilliant exposition of Habad wisdom and Ahavat Yisrael. How does one access the original article(s) to which this is an answer? This is a seminal debate with far-reaching consequences that go to the very survival of the Jewish people.

1982 was quite a year for baseball in Milwaukee. But Rabbi Shmotkin sure got an early start that Chanukah.

i am a former “atheist” “secularist” who met rabbi shmotkin in 1982 on a cold winter night as he handed out menorahs outside a Brewer’s game with his son Zalman who at the time had laryngitis.
I told them i was an atheist but they insisted i take the menorah.
Long story short, now i’m reading Collive!!!
G-d bless the Shmotkins, Samuels and Rappaports for bringing Yiddishkeit to the Reform bastion that is Wisconsin.
