Shluchos Take the Stage

Participants of the International Kinus Hashluchos currently being held in Brooklyn, New York, concluded a full day of discussions and workshops with some laughter and entertainment.

Gathered at the Eden Palace events hall, hundreds of Shluchos dined together before enjoying the presentation “Many Acts, Many Roles With One Common Goal.”

With Mrs. Devorah Lewis of Old Tappan, NJ, as emcee, Shluchos were encouraged to sit at tables according to age group in order to “give yourself a chance to meet a Shlucha you’ve never met.”

The program included a blend of comedy skits and musical performances that touched on the busy and multi-faceted lives of Shluchos, as leaders of their communities and institutions alongside family responsibilities.

Act 1: Shalom Aleichem Shluchos was sung by Mrs. Tzivi Stolik of Curitiba, Brazil.

Act 2: The Happy Hour was performed by Mrs. Mushkie Zimmerman of Oro Valley, AZ and Mrs. Leah Winner of Brighton Beach, NY.

Act 3: Broken Hearts was sung by Mrs. Rivkie Wilshansky of Kenosha, WI.

Act 4: How I Met My Rebbetzin was performed by Mrs. Kesem Mia Hetsrony of Montreal, Canada.

Act 5: The Musical Duo was presented by percussionists and guitarists Mrs. Tamar Helfen of Amherst, MA and Mrs. Sarah Kisilevitch of Northampton, MA.

Act 6: Power of a Niggun was played by violinist Mrs. Tova Starik of Vienna, Austria.

Act 7: We Are Not Alone was sung by composer and soloist Mrs. Debora Malamud of Astrakhan, Russia.

Act 8: Real Life, Real Shlichus was jointly performed by Mrs. Zeldi Richter of Howard Beach, NY; Mrs. Sara’le Brownstein of Davis, CA; Mrs. Dini Polichenko of Tijuana, Mexico; and Mrs. Sonia Hershkovich of Cabo, Mexico.
