“Yaldei Shluchei HaRebbe” supports the Rebbe’s Shluchim who, in addition to their regular Shlichus, have been entrusted with a ‘special’ Shlichus within their own homes – a child with special needs.
“Yaldei” stands with these families throughout the year, with the highlight of their annual activities being special retreat days for the Shluchim couples. During these retreats, the couples disconnect from the never-ending demands of caring for their child and recharge themselves with strength to continue their dual Shlichus.
The “Yaldei” branch in the Holy Land and European countries maintains contact with dozens of Shluchim families. This year’s retreat marks the seventh such gathering, hence the motto “Vayinafash – And He rested” (a reference to the seventh day of creation when Hashem rested).
The retreat, held at the Leonardo Plaza Hotel in Jerusalem, was attended by 60 Shluchim couples for two days of refreshment, recharging, and rest, along with lectures, sessions, and discussions.
The event concluded with a sumptuous and uplifting banquet in the King David’s Tomb complex in the Old City of Jerusalem, following a group prayer at the Western Wall. The guest of honor and keynote speaker was Rabbi Kalman Samuels, president and founder of the “Shalva” organization.
Rabbi Samuels shared the personal challenges he and his family faced with their son Yossi, and captivated the audience with the story of their special and personal encounter with the Rebbe, which occurred thanks to a request from Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka OBM. His speech left a profound impression, offering insights and lessons to all in attendance.
