By the Shluchim office
It has been nearly a week since CYH online Lag B’omer Parade and here in the Shluchim Office CYH department we are still getting phone calls and emails to say thank you.
As one Shlucha wrote, “Thanks for a wonderful rally for two little girls who could not even attend the rally in Ft. Lauderdale with all the floats, etc. because of our own Lag B’Omer event conflicting and being too far away to drive there and back in time. What you do for our kids is priceless!!”
The Engel Family from Adelaide, Australia woke up at 2:30 am to join the parade!
The chayus that was felt from that parade was tangible. For children of shluchim who didn’t have the privilege of attending the Rebbe’s Lag B’omer parade, here was a chance to try and see what it was it like.
Rabbi Shea Hecht, the MC of the parade began the parade by welcoming everyone from all around the world and really putting everyone in to the spirit of Lag B’omer
After reciting the Pesukim as “one Mishpacha” we were privileged to have our parade of floats. Shluchim from around world created floats for the parade, out of food, supplies, lego, computers and house goods such as bottle caps! The Pelmans from Guatemala made an incredible float portraying the mivtzah of Neiros Shabbos Kodesh… a fully edible float!
Thank you to the Shusterman Family from Hawaii, The Freundlich Family from Beijing China, The Grossbaum Family from Folsom, California, the Ezagui Family from Palm Beach Florida, The Hazan Family from Italy, The Pelmans from Guatemala, the Levenson Family from Ukraine and the Lewis Family from Brighton UK …for creating incredible floats on the 10 mivtzoim.
To give the students the effect of a real lag b’omer parade, the 5th grade online school dressed up as clowns and did stunts, juggling and more to make sure all the kinderlach felt that they were at a real parade. An integral part of every parade is the marching band and this parade was NO different! The marching band was presented by the Wilhelm Family of Uzhgorod Ukraine.
A highlight of the parade was the incredible show performed by Avremi Rappoport from Mequon, Wisconsin. He juggled on a unicycle, did back flips and gave the children something to enjoy!
After sitting behind our computer and viewing the parade which was a huge success, we realize how much the shluchim’s talent and involvement helps other children around the world, who are just like them. Your involvement is important!
For those of you that missed out on this incredible event you can watch the parade now! Just click here!
