On the surface it appears simple — the baalebatim support, and shluchim provide — but the equation does not always add up so perfectly. And while the contributions recede further, our fellow Shluchim struggle to surge forward—and survive.
It may seem shocking, but there are countless Shluchim who literally do not have the means to provide their families with food and clothing, let alone a decent car or the means with which to send their children to summer camp. Homes are being foreclosed and utilities shut off. It is not just the big expenses of fundamental programs that they cannot afford; it is the bills of basic necessities that are not being covered.
We cannot stand by idly while our Shluchim are struggling to survive on the front lines! We are our brothers’ keepers.
The Shluchim Fund was created to help Shluchim with their day-to-day financial burdens. Since Purim 5769, over $60,000 was distributed amongst 247 families, and the requests for assistance are constant and growing. Any Shliach who puts in a request, receives funds—immediately. The more we have, the more we can give.
Brothers, friends, please help support our Shluchim. It is heartbreaking to turn down a Shliach due to an empty fund. Click here to make a difference. Be assured, 100% of your donation directly assists a Shliach.
On behalf of the recipients – Thank you!
Rabbi Eli Rosenfeld

i am disgusted and very hurt at how all you CH’s do all day is sit around and comment and gossip!maybe b/c ur husband or wife has a buisness where they can earn money, and where if your child needs food its right there and if they want to buy something at the toy store, there u go!we are in the omer!why should we hurt and be mean and put down shluchim and our fellow brothers!yes,i do know that there are a few shluchim that are well of and i also agree that some people spend a little much on weddings and… Read more »
camp is VERY BASIC for shluchims kids who have NO kids their age and this is the only opportunity the y get to meet kids. not basic????
Thank you Eli for helping us get through the month. We are touched by your kindness.
Thank you Eli! and when it says “camp” i remember as a kid i use to look forward to the only time, where i could meet frum, lubavitch kids! thank you! Yasher koach!
Whoever is writing on both sides CERTAINLY doesn’t represent the sentiments of most shluchim nor most anash in CH. It is utterly dispicable to hear the word “farmers” or to sense a jealousy against shluchim.
We are all chasidim and anash, and people who talk in either extreme are not representivie of how a CHOSID talks or feels!!!
I am a Shliach who has equal respect for a shliach or a member of anash wherever he lives. Ahavas Yisroel is a cardinal principle in Torah and the central theme in Darchei Hachasidus!
Eli, thank you for the pre-pesach money. We had emptied every pushka of every cent and your money helped us make it through!
We are all brothers and sisters of one family. Each of us plays a different role in the family. Ridiculing one another, questioning the others needs is SINAS CHINAM. There is enough tzoros out there R”L, we have enough enemies. FARGIN UN FARGEB and focus on the real goal for all of us shluchim and anash- to make the world a placeof SHOLOM AMITI and spread thegoodness and kindness first within our own family and then to the world around us!!
Lets set the record here – nobody calls CH residents farmers except for shluchim, all year long they make fun of CH, but when they need a place to stay or need money or need a place for their baaleI battinm or for their college students or for a package to be sent to them who do they call? a family member friend or someone they knew 10 years ago THAT LIVES IN CH!!! So the least you can do is have some respect for CH, yes you can collect from anyone – but CH should help CH first!!
My coment was in response to comment #1, who presents himself as a CH resident. I doubt he has the same needs as you did…
People who are commenting here and putting Shluchim down- are talking without any knowledge or idea what a shliach endures.
Its shameful and I cant believe that people actually think this way and would have the Chutzpa to publicly post it.
Its sad to me.
We are after all in Sefiras Haomer. A little less judging and a little more Dan Lekaf Zechus would be nice, especially a few days before Shavuos.
how intelligent these farmers sound… you can spot who is what from the comments…
yes to shluchim’s children camp is a basic because for one month a year these children get to meet with other children their age that are frum and gather kochos for the whole year as shluchim.. these kids sacrifice so much at least give them this. and while you wonder if you should listen to me or not, trust me i was one of those kids.
WHY DONT THE HAT STORES ON KINGSTON AVE. START SELLING FARMER HATS ???
To set the record straight: It is indeed Shluchim who are among the biggest supporters of their fellow shluchim.
Surprise!
A guy sets up a fund to help shluchim who are hungry, and cannot afford the basic staples to feed their families, and all you can do is MAKE FUN? Are you insane? Kids are sleeping on broken beds, go to sleep hungry. What’s the matter with you? Why can’t someone in CH do the same thing for those in need? Merkos may have millions, who knows? Head Shluchim should help, but while they all try to figure out who should help whom, here’s a fund which helps shluchim pay off a bill or two. Instead of bitching, do something!… Read more »
after reading these comments i fully understand why you are called FARMERS
I’m terrorized by what i’m reading here, i personally know many Shluchim who are struggling, and a bunch of people with no feelings are complaining for no reason
it makes no difference who is struggling, if someone is struggling people should help them especially if we are talking about people that devote their lives for the rebbe’s purpose
make a Chesbon Hanefesh and you will see that you are wrong
All we ch residents are saying “dont come to VH and get your money” just as if CH resident would go to a rich shliach and ask him for money the shliach would laugh him off – Let the rich shluchim who are living in millions of dollar houses and chabad houses help their fellow brothers and yes the “RICH IN CH SHOULD HELP THE POOR CH RESIDENTS FIRST”!!!
THANK YOU ELI ROSENFELD FOR THIS WONDERFUL HELP. THE MONEY SAVED US ON EREV PESACH!!
Head shluchim should help with these “basic things”, 10 milions in chabad house, 7 millions in onother one, this is good, but if there is another shlaich who needs, they should be first on the list
I se that almost everywhere m thery are opening new chabad houses, this is very good, but before open the new ones, take care of the shluchim who need
What Eli Rosenfeld is saying is true. B”H there are shluchim that get these 100,000 donations. Most shluchim especially young ones starting out survive on small donations. I could account from our experience and lots of my friends that we are not surviving. Our biggest B”B right now is Visa, Master Card. The econamy does not make things easier. But we keep trucking along with a smile & do what we have to for other Jews and hope that Hashem and the Rebbe will help us. Eli keep up your work. You donation was great help for us this Pesach.
Why are you all so angry? Everyone is a target for your rage, which is misplaced. Make peace or whatever needs to be done with those who are really making you angry – surely any fund to help people in need is a worthy cause. Don’t contribute and don’t comment
Wow! The bitter feelings here are unbelievable! Someone is trying to help people & all he gets is criticism?! Yasher Koach ER for taking an initiative! It seems that many Crown Heightsers get upset when they see things for shluchim… Remember please – each person, along with their spouse, makes the decision of what to do with their lives. Some chose shlichus, others chose to stay where there is chinuch, kashrus…. Each one has their challenges. It seems (from things I’ve heard from fellow Lubavitchers – non shluchim) that many people THINK that Shluchim have it alot easier to “find”… Read more »
Guys it’s sefirah come on… Eli Rosenfeld is doing amazing things… either say b”h and help or shut up!!!
Why do Sheluchim make such fancy Chassunahs? Just to impress their Geverim! Why do CH ers spend $4,000+ on a Vort? The Rebbe expressly said that a Vort should be a L’chaim & Mezonos in the house!!!!!!!
WHO IS STOPPING YOU FROM CREATING A FUND FOR CH RESIDENTS?? ADERABE — if you see the need, GO and do it! Stop talking about it.
You sound like you’re getting offended by every organization who raises $$. For example, HASC and SOUP KITCHEN IN ISRAEL, Fundraisers for schools, etc? Maybe they should also be collecting for CH residents?
to my fellow Commenter #1: Please let me know WHAT is stopping YOU from starting this fund for CH residents?
why dont you guys go back to fighting each other. back stabbing each other. etc.. you had it all with rabbi Fisher. magine where you wouldve been today had he remained with his collegues. instead you elected a bunch of looseres year after year and have nothing to show for yourselves. you cant even put together a decent Mikvah. the only new buildings that went up was beis rivkah which was funded by rabbi shemtov. and Ohalei Torah which was funded by the Deitches in CT. just go look at who is running in the new elections. you had it… Read more »
after being called a farmer so many times by the heilig shluchim, I will give my dollars to fellow farmers!
give it two weeks and it will become a Kinus project.
where is all the millions merkos has???? Who are they always fundraising for?
Camp doesn’t really appear to me as basic, sorry…
stop fighting like cats and dogs then maybe the community will start helping each other…
Why doesn’t Merkos cut down on some of their “very important” court cases, and foot the bill.
where is the fund that helps hard working families in ch who cant make enough to support their wife and kids and pay the high rent in CH and the high school and camp bills!!! because we are not shluchim everyone charges ch residents the full price when a big portion of us can not afford to live and to have the basics!!
