A most enjoyable Pesach Retreat took place at the elegant Comfort Inn and Suites in East Greenbush, coordinated and directed by Rabbi Avraham and Nechama Laber, Shluchim of East Greenbush and South Rennselear County.
Over 100 men, woman and children from diverse backgrounds gathered together to enjoy the Pesach holiday. Local Jews were pleased to meet people who came from Montreal, Boston, and New Jersey. The guests were accommodated in deluxe comfortable hotel rooms and treated to delicious, tantalizing food three times a day with an open snack bar between meals always stocked with fresh fruit, nuts, and hot drinks. Unique to the menu was that one would never guess that the food fresh food served was strictly non-gebroks and non-processed. Attendees gratefully reported that they’ve never experienced or tasted high quality, elegant and healthy cuisine of this caliber at other Pesach Retreats. Aviva from MA wrote in an e-mail: “This was the best Pesach I ever had.”
The program included Minyanim in the hotel, shiurim throughout the day, private and separate swimming sessions for men and women, and above all – a phenomenal children’s program. Children ages 3 -12 were entertained and occupied most of the Yom Tov by highly professional and experienced counselors. Their activities included their own model seders both nights with dinner included, drama play, puppet shows, food decorating activities, and outdoor sports and games. A special highlight of the program was that the children were able to enjoy late night storytelling and a Pesach Pajama Party while their parents were peacefully able to conclude their Seder!
Rabbi Avraham and Nechama Laber are planning for their next retreat. Registration is in full swing for the Jewish Girls annual Summer Retreat from July 10-31 in Troy NY, for girls of all backgrounds, ages 8-15.
