The family of Mrs. Braindy Naparstek, a beloved mother and grandmother from Crown Heights, gathered for a heartfelt event to mark the Shloshim – 30 days since her passing.
The event also included the beginning of the writing of a new Torah in her memory.
Braindy was known by many for having worked for many years in her family’s Zakon’s Toys store on Kingston Avenue.
The MC at the event was Rabbi Yehoshua Lustig, Braindy’s son-in-law, who spoke about her unwavering commitment to her priorities, and her dedication to her family.
Mrs. Naparstek’s children and children-in-law spoke about how throughout her life, whether as a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and store owner, she always approached her roles with grace and dedication. She never allowed herself to be dragged down by the distractions and pettiness that often cloud our lives.
Speakers noted that she was really there for everyone, she was attentive and made everybody feel special and cared for. She was very present and had a lot of wisdom and guidance to share with all those who she came in contact with.

Out of all the women I know, Breindy really stands out as being the most present, wife, mother, and grandmother I have ever met. She was dedicated to her family in a manner that was above and beyond. She viewed motherhood as the privilege that it is, and embraced her role with dignity and perseverance. This is something our generation is definitely missing. This left a deep impact on me. Her memory inspires me to put my phone away sometimes and just be there for my children, the way she always was.
