A Shloshim memorial event for Avraham Dovid Liberow OBM took place Motzoei Shabbos in Merkaz Hasimcha hall in Flatbush, New York.
With over 300 men and women in attendance, the gathering marked 30 days since the passing of the 9 year old in a car crash together with newlywed Pesha Leah Azoulay.
“Their return through Techiyas Hameisim is very near,” said his hospitalized father, Shliach Rabbi Zalman Liberow in a phone call to participants.
He said the source of the prophecy of the resurrection of the dead in Messiah’s times is from this past week’s Torah portion Beshalach, where it says that Moshe and the Jewish people will sing the 10th song by the redemption.
The MC, Rabbi Aharon Ginsburg, a Shliach in Boro Park, invited Moishie Friedman, a friend of the family, to say Tehillim for the Shliach.
A cousin of the boy, Yosef Popper brought the crowd to tears as he shared memories of Avraham Dovid.
They were followed by uplifting niggunim played by Shmuel Yankowitz along with Sholom Popper, Zalman Okunov and Levi Ginsburg.
The guest speaker was famed lecturer Rabbi Yosef Y. Jacobson, who inspired participants with words about commitment to G-d and faith even in the coldest and darkest of times.
tragic, yet this event is truly inspirational and hopefully will give us all the koichos to move on and be stronger in our avodah and bring the rebbe with us b’guf gashmi NOW!!!
