The city of S. Monica is not exactly the source of positive news these days with the arrest of Ron Hirsh, a 60 year-old Jewish man who placed an explosive at the local Chabad House.
But trust fellow resident and Shliach Rabbi Shlomo Menkes to provide us with good news.
Menkes, who rose to fame after auditioning on “A Jewish Star” singing competition, has released a new niggun he composed in honor of the Lubavitcher Rebbe‘s 109th birthday on 11 of Nissan.
Titled “Matei Uzcha,” the words are taken from Tehillim, kapital 110, which Lubavitchers worldwide will start saying every day after Shachris for the Rebbe.
He brings to the song the same energy, simcha and emunah that made his first single “Ata Hashem Lo Tichla” a hit with the music fans and often heard being sung at Chassidic Farbrengens and in Yeshivos.
Reb Shlomo told COLlive.com he is looking forward to hearing and seeing how this new niggun will be received.

I guess only if your name is Reb Shlomo are you able to create new nigguns
Best ‘Shir’ I’ve heard so far. All the others are ‘cookie cutter’ style.
I believe this is a ‘shir.’ A ‘niggun’ has no words.
