A special medal was awarded to the Chief Rabbi and Chabad Shliach in Kiev, Rabbi Yonatan Markovich, by the Ukrainian Minister of Culture Mr. Alexander Tkachenko.
The Medal was in honor of his work and dedication in raising up Judaism in the country.
“The medal was given to me, however, it reflects the great respect that the Ukrainian government has for Ukrainian Jews and especially to Lubavitch, which is an integral part of its culture,” Rabbi Markovich said.
