You clearly state that on a new shirt we don’t make a shehechiyanu, but other b’gadim we do?
Why not specify which b’gadim we make a shehechiyanu then?
a new yalmukah? a new hat? a new kapote? a new pair of pants? a new pair of shoes?
I’ll presume that if a shirt we don’t then socks, underwear, and the like we wouldn’t make a brocho?
as far as i know when you buy a house if you are single you make a shehecheyanu
and if you are married you make a hatov v’hmativ
why dont you ask a rav and see if there is anyone who will tell you that your dovor haposhut is correct
Dear Rabbi Wilhelm, would it be possible for you to publish a brief glossary of the terms used in your weekly talks? It would be a valuable addition to the material you present. And many thanks for the series – I look forward each week to the intriguing questions you raise and answer. Further, have you ever considered adding “non-degree” courses along similar lines to those you provide in the Simcha on line program? Sincerely, B. Maister.
It’s a dovor haposhut that one must say shehecheyonu when one acquires a car, even if it’s not a luxury car, and even if it’s second-hand. It’s a major event in ones life, its possession brings one happiness, and on every such event one must say shehecheyonu.
