Finally bringing to light a monumental project begun by Rabbi Boruch Oberlander of Budapest, Hungary, over ten years ago, the first glimpse of a new book on the Rebbe’s life is now available.
“The Rebbe’s Early Years, the life of the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson,” of righteous memory, focuses on the story of the Rebbe’s life from birth until his arrival in the United States in 1941.
The first part of the book to be published, released at the International Conference of Shluchim, is a 112-page excerpt, focusing on the marriage of the Rebbe and Rebbetzin in Warsaw in 5689 (1928), featuring “every known document and on-the-record account of these events.”
The team of scholars and researchers led by Oberlander and his co-author, Rabbi Elkanah Shmotkin, “researched, studied, translated, and presented the documents in narrative form, along with facsimiles of a large number of key documents” – many of them published in the book for the first time.
According to JEM, the long awaited excerpt is being published “in limited quantity,” with the larger book expected for Gimmel Tamuz of this year.
In honor of 14 Kislev, the date of the Rebbe and Rebbetzin’s wedding, the excerpt is available in stores for only $5, made possible by a grant from a generous donor.
Its called the Royal Wedding.
in Kehos, and other stores.
#1 which CD’s are you referring to?
but they should put all footnotes at the end of the book, or at the end of each chapter. it is a story book, not an academic treatise. easy for me to criticize but the work is amazing!
