I’m a former bais yaakov student. I remember his chant “good better best
Dont begin to rest
Until the good becomes the better
and the better becomes the best”.
Also he would always chant “amen zeir shein macht a bracha in deir heim”
I have very warm memories of him.

If there was one thing Rabbi Yossi Goldstein taught me, it was the power of a genuine “thank you!” He would say “Thanks!” in such a colorful way you’d might at first think he was being sarcastic. But he was one of those rare gentlemen of character who really was that grateful for the little things people did for him, even if it was telling him that his tallis strings were on the floor while he was sitting and davening (as I did once when I was a young bochur). I was a student at Bais Yaakov of Boro Park. It was such a large school and I really felt that I was just a number. No faculty member other then my teachers really knew me. Rabbi Goldstien was different, I remember his warm and friendly smile as if it was yesterday when I would stop by his office to drop off my full pushke and receive a prize he gave with such joy.
