Second “Girls Kinus” is Planned

Following last year’s success, a second Kinus for young women and post-Seminary age girls will take place during the upcoming Chof Beis Shvat convention in Crown Heights.

The first young women’s Kinus was organized by two girls currently on Shlichus, Chayala Mentz of Bel Air, California and Draizy Raskin of Vermont.

Hundreds of girls gathered in Crown Heights for their own Kinus, receiving a spiritual lift from workshops, sessions and events tailored just for them.

Many of the girls in this age group are already working as Shluchos, assisting in Chabad Houses around the world with programming, Hebrew Schools, Bar/Bat Mitzvah lessons and preschools, organizers told COLlive.

“These are girls who work hard all year,” they said. “For this one weekend they can get away and learn and recharge.”

The sessions will tackle topics that are helpful to both girls who are on Shlichus for the year, as well as those who are looking to enhance their knowlege of chinuch and hashkafa.

On Friday night, a Chassidic farbrengen will be held with Rabbi YY Jacobson, one of the most sought-after speakers in the Jewish world and head of the virtual Beis Medrash of TheYeshiva.net.

A highlight of the program will be a Motzoei Shabbos concert with popular singer Rivkah Krinsky which will be preceeded by a Melava Malka with author and lecturer Shimona Tzukernik.

On Sunday they will be learning with respected teachers such as Rabbi Zalman Kaplan of Montreal, Rabbi Shais Taub of Pittsburgh, Rabbi Eli Nosson Silberberg of Chicago, Mrs. Raizel Wolvovsky of Crown Heights and Rabbi Shmuly Rothman of Chicago.

Workshop sessions are open on a first come first serve basis.
