Have you ever been reading Tehillim and wondered, “What exactly am I saying? What does Chassidus say about this? How will this change my day?” A major new book from Kol Menachem has just been launched which aims to revolutionize the way we say Tehillim.
The much awaited “Schottenstein Edition,” with 480 pages of insights in English from the Rebbe and classical meforshim, has now hit the shelves, just in time for Gimmel Tammuz.
The commentaries have been translated and adapted by Rabbi Chaim Miller, who has penned other Kol Menachem Classics such as the Gutnick Chumash, Slager Haggadah, Megillah and Rambam, and more recently, the Lifestyle Torah and Friday Night Prayers
“Tehillim is so inspiring, so brilliant,” Rabbi Miller commented, “but you need help to unpackage its gems. I wrote this commentary so that when you are saying Tehillim you can look down and in 30 seconds or a minute you get a whole new sense of what is going on.”
“It’s hard to imagine anything giving the Rebbe more pleasure,” commented Rabbi Meyer Gutnick, founder and director of Kol Menachem, “than the thought that his Torah thoughts on Tehillim have been published in such an exceptionally clear and beautiful manner.”
This ambitious project was the brainchild of sponsor Mr. Tovia Schottenstein of Columbus Ohio, his sons David and Aryeh and their families. Later on, their cousin Mr. Jay Schottenstein was so inspired by the book he decided to join with his family as a co-sponsor. It represents the first major publishing enterprise he has supported outside the Artscroll series.

For many years, The Rebbe used the Tehillim Yahel Or with the Chassidus of the Tzemach Tzedek on Shabbos Mevorchim.
Cant wait to start a shiur in shul and chabad house!
This is a beautiful Safer! I think it’s great to be able to finally learn well and get a nice understanding of what we always say in Tehillim! I am wondering if this is meant to use as well for saying Tehillim, not just for the learning of it? I have heard that that Rebbe once said that Tehillim is best said from the traditional Lubavichter Tehillim Ohel YY Lubavitch, since the pages of its Tehillim are copies from the actual Tehillim the Frerdicker Rebbe used, and therefore it has special Koches within it.
