Rabbi Shmulik Scharf, the injured Lubavitcher who lost his wife in a terror attack, was released from the hospital Monday.
Scharf was treated in the Tel Hashomer hospital after being severly injured from a Hamas rocket shot at his home in Kiryat Malachi.
He has successfully undergone head surgery, but could not attend the funeral of his wife, the kedosha Miri Scharf, killed in the attack over a week ago.
The Scharfs were active with Jews and Israeli tourists in New Delhi, India. Shmulik and his three children will be living with his parents in Beitar Ilit, near Jerusalem.
The children were lightly injured in the attack. CNN’s Sara Snider reported that 4-year-old Yosef Scharf has 2 of his fingers amputated and was released this past Friday.
“There are great miracles,” he commented in an interview from the hospital. “The fact that I went down the stairs and that I am alive, I am thanking Hashem.”
Ironically, the Scharfs were being treated a room away from Bisan Al Aghram, an 8-year-old from Gaza hit during the battle.
Her mother Suad Al Aghram said she was afraid at first as this was her first time entering Israel.
She said the Israelis treated her daughter “in a very nice way.”

Like affirmative action here in America. Arab patients get preferential treatment. They’ll service a Palestinian ten times faster than the jew or soldier!!! Sad but true. I know someone who left Israel after sitting for hours in the ER in Israel while palis got treated before them after coming later.
Yimach Shimom!! You Americans don’t have a clue of what just happened in Israel this past week!!! How can they even speak like that!!! It’s such a wrong way of looking at the whole thing!! American news just gets the whole story wrong!!! I’m here in Israel and please let me tell you a little bit of the truth of how things went over here: The nonstop frightening news was just so hard to accept, every few min we would get an update, sirens heard in… then a few min later we hear; it BH landed in an open area… Read more »
The UN should pass a resolution making it a war crime to hide behind civilians, especially women and children.
Shmuel ben Chaya Sara Yehudis (kap 31) the others are Kap 5, Kap 3, Kap 1.
looks sooo bad! ad mosai! tehilim! hashem! 🙁
This is common practice for Israeli Media. The channel two news in ISRAEL had their own program on this hot news item. 90% of it was this nebach Arab girl , her suffering , her mother etc. they forgot to ask one question.. little girl would you be proud to be the next suicide bomber? and then turn to the mother who would get nachos from her affirmitive respons and then offer to tie the explosives to her injured arm. Ad mosai?
and three cheers for the father, what a hero.
what a hero.
“barely had time to see what was happening when a second missile hit….saw bones on floor” and then for the Jewish boy they said “lost fingers” wow, what insanity

I can’t believe how typical these comments are of close minded Crown Heights Jews.
Israel is constantly accused of being murderers but here it is publicized that they will do everything in their power to save whoever walks through their doors, Arab, Israeli, it doesn’t matter.
This shows exactly the opposite of what the nations think of Israel and instead of being upset we should be grateful that it made the headlines.
This is unbearable. This poor baby, left motherless, and maimed. hashem yerachem!! For what? I cannot sleep at night with this. What is his name and the names of his father and siblings who need a refuah sheleima?
I AGREE WITH #1 100%.
You are right and something should be said to CNN directly
Yes, we will miss mira. I knew her personally. She was an unbelievable shlucha who gave up all material conforts for shlichus. The sharfs didnt live there with ipads and luxuries. They lived only to do what the rebbe wants.
If only there were more shluchim out there like her and her husband
Agreed
L’yulie Nishmat Mira Rut bas Chaya Leah.
xoxo missed even though we’ve never met.
Ad mosai??????????
CNN is anti-smitic. They make it sound like there are 2 sides… They should make it clear that the arab girl is hurt because the arabs are shooting thousands of rockets into civilian areas for NO REASON! And from civilian houses. So when Israel defends it’self, of course it hurts civilians. They are attacking and Israel is ONLY defending itself.
