A non-Jewish employee of the Chabad House testifies that the Menorah was still standing on Friday night, when he last saw it. The police have opened an investigation, and one official revealed to COLlive in a phone conversation that he believes that it was a targeted attack in retaliation for the strike in Gaza.
Every day this particular Chabad House holds a public Menorah lighting for thousands of people. On Friday there was a Muslim demonstration nearby, with hundreds looking to sign people up for a petition asking for the creation of a Palestinian state.
