Rabbi Nachum Ehrentreu, Chief Rabbi of the city of Zaporozhye in southeastern Ukraine, was left unharmed after being in a car accident Monday night.
And he says it was a clear miracle.
“I was driving back from the airport where I brought my son – he was returning to Yeshiva in Moscow,” he told COLlive.com.
“On the way, I got a message from my friend R’ Moshe Dovid Cohen who was at the Rebbe’s Ohel at the time. I sent him a few names to be mentioned for a blessing.
“Later, I sent him my name and my wife’s name for success in our shlichus and that we shall be freed from tribulations. I don’t know why I chose those words.”
Not long after that, it began to rain hard, leaving the roads wet and the drive dangerous.
“I tried to slow down the vehicle, but the brakes were not working,” the Shliach recalled. “I sharply shifted the steering wheel to the right, and as a result the vehicle rolled over three times.”
But they were left unharmed. “Baruch Hashem, despite the intensity of the accident, not a thing happened to us,” he says. “The police officer said that from similar accidents he has seen cars catch fire.”
He also noted that his vehicle ended up in the opposite road, yet oncoming cars and a truck managed to pass without crashing into him.
Rabbi Ehrentreu realized later that the time of the accident was the same time his friend entered the Ohel and prayed for them.
“We recently conducted a large Mezuza campaign in Zaporozhye,” he said. “It was because of this we were saved.”
I was by him for peach he’s a real special person who personifies a shliach of the rebbe in every
So good to finally see some good news here!!
May it only continue….
B”H for the miracles you experienced!!
Fyi to # 7 he was NOT texting & driving at the time. His wife was driving & when the breaks weren’t working, he took over the wheel.
#7 … very true though the way you write your message to me sounds accusing that he text while driving .. this is unfair and NOT right since you have NO idea if he did and it is NOT noticeable from the story … so look in the mirror and do NOT be a ”’nar”’
Always good to have an Emunah-boost every once in a while…
The Rebbe also encouraged safety, so speaking on a cell, or texting, and even having decent working breaks, are very important!
Zai nishet kein nar
an amazing ness
Living all the way out there must be so hard!! Keep up the great work and moshiach now!
The rebbe is watching over his Shluchim .continue to do his holy work
