Chabad Shluchim operating in Switzerland, recently gathered for a regional Kinus Hashluchim hosted at Chabad of Zurich, directed by Switzerland’s Head Shliach Rabbi Mendel Rosenfeld.
Switzerland is a relatively small country, but it is divided into many cantons with different languages. Some speak German, others speak French, and people in Lugano speak Italian.
The Jewish population in Switzerland is not significant in numbers, especially compared to the Jewish populations in neighboring countries like France, Germany, and Italy. But there are many Jews, and they lead vibrant Jewish lives.
It is the only country in central Europe that did not experience the Holocaust, allowing Jewish life to continue uninterrupted for over two hundred years.
With an intention to build on what was already existent, the Rebbe sent Rabbi and Mrs. Devorah Rosenfeld to Switzerland in 5742. They, and all the Shluchim they have since appointed, serve as a shining and joyful light.
During the gathering, remarks were shared by the senior and younger Shluchim, each focusing on the need to be dedicated to the mission of the Rebbe in welcoming every Jew.
Among the younger Shluchim who presented were Rabbi Motti Gruzman of Basel, Rabbi Getzy Rubashkin and Rabbi Nochum Bernshtein of Zurich, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Pewzner and Rabbi Dovid Shmul of Geneva, and Rabbi Eli Marilus of Biel/Bienne.
The concluding banquet was emceed by Rabbi Chaim Druckman of Lucern, with remarks by Deputy Chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky via Zoom, Rabbi Zalman Wishesky of Basel and Rabbi Sholom Ber Rosenfeld of Zurich.
The decisions of the Kinus were written down and shared among participants to be followed once returning home.

You make us Rosenfelds proud.
