Rabbi Shmuel Katan, 85, OBM

Rabbi Shmuel Katan, a survivor of the Holocaust who was born in Yugoslavia who became a chemist and an engineer in the Israeli Air Force, and was a fervent chossid who played the violin in front of the Rebbe at 770 Eastern Parkway, passed away. Full Story

I was at the fabrengen when he played the violin. I will never forget it! I had come to lubavitch in 1967 and this made a profound effect on me. I remember the rebbe stopping him and asking him to change the playing style but never knew exactly what the rebbe said until now.
I was crying when i read this as it brings all the memories back
