Rabbi Yaacov Schwei, member of the Crown Heights Beis Din (Badatz), was welcomed back by a colleague and a few community members after being away from the neighborhood on Yomtov.
The rabbi, who is in his 70’s, was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday, Erev Sukkos, after suffering from a minor stroke.
Asked to remain for check-ups, he ended up spending the 3-day holiday at Miamonidies Medical Center in Brooklyn with his son R’ Sholom Baruch Schwei, his daughter, and son-in-law Rabbi Aron Ginsberg, Director of the Chabad House of Boro Park.
He was discharged last night, Motzoei Shabbos Chol Hamoed Sukkos, to his home where he was greeted by Badatz member Rabbi Yosef Braun. (Before Sukkos, they released a newsletter about their joint activities – download here).
“I’m feeling better, Baruch Hashem,” Rabbi Schwei told the delegation which included Chanina Sperlin (who blessed him with a Birchas Kohanim), Yanky Herzog and others.

It was a T.I.A. (Transient ischemic attack)
A TIA is similar to a very small stroke except their is no damage to the brain after it happens
