Rabbi Moshe Muller, one of the beloved Chabad Shluchim in Great Britain, has suddenly passed away in the hospital on Sunday, 30 Nissan 5776.
The 43-year-old reported chest pains last week and was instructed to remain on best rest over Shabbos for additional checkups. Today, he suffered a heart attack.
The news came as a shock to his family, colleagues, community members and many friends he has acquired over the years with his friendly and good nature.
Since 1996, he has served as Assistant Director and Centre Operations Manager of Chabad Lubavitch Centres of N. E. London and Essex headquartered in Ilford, under the leadership of Rabbi Aryeh Sufrin.
Together with his wife, he has organized youth activities throughout the year, and oversaw the koshering of kitchens, Tefillin and Mezuzah home checking and replacement services.
He also organized the festival programs, under 35’s Friday night meals, Torah and chassidus classes, teenage summer and winter activities and visits to the infirm and housebound.
“One of the sweetest people to walk G-d’s earth has been taken from us tonight,” a friend commented on the sudden passing. “Too soon.”
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Brochi Muller (nee Bernstein) and their children Chaya Mushka, Mendel, Shoshi, Yitzy, Shimi, Zalman, Yosef, and Avraham Yisroel.
He is also survived by his mother, Jenette Muller – London; and siblings Rabbi Eli Muller – Montreal, Canada, Rabbi Chaim Muller, Mrs. Malka Zarfati – London, UK; Mrs. Yael Klyne – Manchester, UK, Mrs. Sarah Tuller – Crown Heights; Mrs. Shoshi Serebryanski – Melbourne, Australia; Mrs. Tovah Vidal – Montreal, Canada; and Mrs. Rivkah Hershkowitz – Chicago, IL.
The levaya will be held Monday, leaving from Lubavitch (Stamford Hill) 2.30pm, go to the family home at 28 the Crescent Gants Hill IG2 6JF at 3.30pm and then to Adas Yisroel Enfield Carterhatch Lane EN1 1BG at 4.15pm.

Moishe was so nice, so special. He used to go on Mivtzoyim to king Solomon High School with his children to shake Lulov with the hundreds of Jewish students during sukkos. When ever he would go there, all the students were so fond of him. They used to say that Moishe was such an interesting teacher and made Judaism come alive for them in such a great way. There are no words to describe our feelings , just complete numbness and devastation. I hope the community will all come together to help the family in every way possible to continue,… Read more »
Such a tragic loss to his beautiful family and the local community. Always caring, smiling and working tirelessly to help others and promote yiddishkeit. May his dear soul rest in peace. Long life to the family. Julian Levy
Wishing the family comfort and only simchos in the future.
Moishe a good kind and helpful to everyone ,still cant forget how he cared for me back in Manchester yeshiva as a foreign bocur with no friends, i still feel good when I’m thinking of him!!!, may Hashem bless his whole family with only revealed good, and be united together very quickly with the hisgalus of the Rebbe MH”m now! Amein
May the unbelievable family should only know only good things from here on.
Rabbi Muller was kind, happy and a good man. He had time for everyone and his wife and family opened their hearts and home to us for shabbats. He tirelessly helped our son with his bar mitzvah and he built a relationship with kids that was genuine and unique, much like him. Long life to the lovely Muller family. Such a great loss to the world. Xxx
Dear brothers, sisters and family sheyichyu, We feel your pain and anguish tremendously. Words cannot express the magnitude of your loss. Moishe was a one of a kind soul that left an impression on all that were blessed to know him. I’ll never forget the good times with Moishe flying out for my brothers wedding in Australia. Driving my parents and siblings from Sydney to Melbourne while entertaining us with his humor and wit. The time flew by and we were in Melbourne in no time. He epitomized what it means to be a selfless individual and a true Mentch.… Read more »

Moshiach NOW!!!

This weeks parasha is titled “kedoshim” the uniqueness of this sedra, it is said by moshe unlike the other laws which were dictated by Aharon. As the opening lines of this sedra states”you should be holy because I G-d your g-d am holy” It’s very interesting when moshe addresses the bnai yisrael , he talks of the positive of the commandment and not of the negative. What we can learn from these pesukim is that we should approach every Jew with warmth , friendliness and positivity, and that was the epitome of our beloved rabbi Moshe Mullar, he taught me… Read more »

We are so shocked & saddened to hear of the untimely passing of Rabbi Muller. What an incredible human being! and a jolly happy man! My Bubba Sufrin used to call him a “Tzaddik!” To Bracha and your beautiful family: hamakom yenachem eschem besoch shaarei aveylei tziyon veyerushalayim. To the Sufrin’s and the Ilford community: our sincere condolences and we wish you only simcha in the near future. Binie (hecht) Itkin & family
Looking around at the levaya today, all one could see was total disbelief and shock on the faces of each and everyone of us; people unfocused, literally bewildered and obviously a tragedy that has touched every single one of us from whichever Lubavitch community we’re from here in England The most amazing man, his most amazing wife and family and his most amazing loving mother….. there are just no words, nothing that can comfort or console anyone, other that, Brocha, Jeanette, siblings, children, we share your pain and heartache and we pray Hashem gives you the strength to go on… Read more »
I can only agree with all the above comments!
A special man, devoted chossid, shliach, dependable Rabbi, an example for all of us!
No words….
Condolences to the Muller family and Ilford community
We are so saddened at the untimely passing of Rabbi Muller. He was a wonderful neighbour who radiated warmth and light. He treated everyone with utmost respect regardless of their background and faith. We will miss his vivacious personality, his sense of fun and laughter, his willingness to do a good turn and the happy times when he blew the shofar in our house on Rosh Hashana. His memory lives on in his dear wife, mother, children and siblings whom we hope draw comfort from those around them at this most difficult of times. Ruth & Max Wiseman and family
BDE. I was a bochur in London Yeshiva. He was wonderful to the bochurim. Inviting us for Shabbos and programs, etc.,
I had the honour of meeting Rabbi Muller at Gan Yisroel camp at our venue in Wales around 7yrs ago. We instantly became friends , who couldn’t like such a man. We used to study together before the boys got up – and if they didn’t he would patrol the various dorms with me with two live geese and launch the geese on the boaters beds to ’speed up ‘ matters. Another fond memory I have is lending him my air rifle to do some target practise and the next morning he very proudly showed me a fox that he… Read more »
…He was at CGI London boys camp (in Wales) with his wife Brocho last year, and t(he)y left a lasting impression on the boys there too.
This is such a shock.
Our thoughts are with you and your family.
May the family know of only simchas.
Shocking and devastating. BDE. May HaShem have rachmanus and bring Mashach now
We were most privileged to have Rabbi Muller teach our son his Barmitzvah. He was a wonderful teacher, and an amazing Rabbi. He gave so much to everyone who knew him, and his contribution to the community was immeasurable. May his memory be a blessing. We wish all of his family a long and peaceful life. Stacia, Mark and Pierce Prince
Will forever be etched in my mind!
Condolences to the family to Rabbi Sufrin your community is bereft and to the ilford Chabad community.

Moshe was a close friend of mine from Yeshiva.
When we would meet in N.Y. we would talk & laugh for a while.
He was genuinely interested in you. He was real.
A very warm Jew. I was excited to meet him in Toronto for the Bernstein chasuna this Lag Baomer!
May the Muller family be comforted!

Myself and a few friends were by Rabbi Muller this past Chanuka to help out, and we Farbrenged countless times over that week. He was a Chassidisher Yid, full of life and vigor, and he really cared for every Jew in his community and beyond. He will be missed by us as a example of a true Shliach and Chossid, and we hope to continue in the path that he taught us.

I didn’t know this person and I’m sure he was very special and his passing is surely painful. If you’re motivated to write here telling him how special he was, or telling the world, or expressing your or the world’s loss, perhaps take from this tragedy the awareness that you/we often don’t think about what we have until we lose it. Perhaps tell someone who is living today how special he or she is. Perhaps spend more time showing someone who you think is special, how special they are to you. Perhaps value you own life more. Right now you… Read more »

Moshiach NOW
A true soldier for Hashem and the Rebbe! Boruch Dayan Emess.
Big lost for the community
Why are you plucking the roses – the beautiful Neshomos of these young and devoted Shluchim, Chasidim or of any Yid for that matter for your garden ” up on high”??
The Kavana is DIRA BATACHTONIM! Why are you taking these Neshomos upward only to have to bring them right back down with the Geulah Haamitis Vhashleima which will be here momentarily? We understand that we do NOT understand your ways.. but pain is pain is pain! Please no more pain for your dear beloved children..Ad Mosai – bring Moshiach NOW!
We are so sorry to learn of this terrible tragedy. Thinking of you and all your family.

You can’t imagine the pain, shock and disbelief in London at the moment. Rabbi Muller was a man of stature. He was so hardworking, earnest, emesdik and ibergegeben, really giving over his life for the Rebbe’s shlichus. He worked very very hard to always spread and strengthen Yiddishkeit, doing so with a smile, good laugh and a shmooze. I remember him as a child in camp, telling us captivating stories and maisses that I remember to this day. The news is simply shocking – He has a whole family , young kids!
