It is with the greatest sadness that I learn of Rabbi Mendel’s passing. He was one of the finest men that I have ever met in my life. He was blessed with a wonderful family and very dear wife. He taught me more than I can convey here through his deep moral and intellectual being. May his blessed memory always be with us.

I am reading these comments and it is bringing tears to my eyes. There is nothing here that is an exaggeration. If anything it is all understated. I knew him for virtually all of my life. I knew and still know he was the ultimate role model. He showed us how a person should live. He lived and acted like a true chosid in every aspect of his life. He was a tremendous talmid chochom who knew Kol hatorah kola, Niglah and Chassidus, but what really set him apart was his unparalleled Ahvas Yisroel, his love for everybody.. He will… Read more »
Wishing you all strength during this sad time. Our thoughts are with you.

Rabbi Mendel Labkowsky was the true Dugma Chaya of what means to be a Chosid; he had a respect & love for every human Bing, he was a genius & Torah scholar, he was Kovea Ittim all the time, he did Mivtzoyim all the time, he was allways happy even in the darkest of times, he was a strength for so many. I loved him tremendously, a true Chosid. We miss him terribly. Unfortunately he suffered so much physically that it was hard to witness it. I am sure he is sitting with the Rebbe working on bringing Moshiach Now!… Read more »

I am no longer religious, but I have very good memories of Rabbi Labkowski growing up in Chabad. He was my Bar Mitzva teacher and later in life he tutored me with my Gemora studies. He was one of the few Rabbi’s I loved because he was such a pure and kind soul.

Broken by the tragic passing of such a tzaddik, because that is what he was, in the true sense of the word;
No words to express how the world is mourning with his family; May Hashem give them the strength to overcome this huge loss, and be able to carry on being the wonderful famiiy that they are. Boruch Dayan Haemess. Ad Mosai Hashem , ad mosai???

Rabbi Labkowsky was the warmest sweetest person u could find. He taught us by example , that a true chosid is not measured by what u know [and he knew quite a lot], but how u interact with others .
Please go li’maalo , and beg Hashem to end this golus,,,ENOUGH ALREADY !!!
We are all gonna deeply miss u…
I had the zechus of knowing Rabbi Labkowsky for many years. A true chossid whose whole life was a living example of what a chossid should look like. His dedication to the Rebbe unmatched, always giving a nice vort to everyone and going on mivtzoim alot. Besides his warmth he was also a big gaon in Nigleh and Chassidus. He spent most of his time learning with Berel Weiss by day.
It seems the levaya will take place in los Angeles Sunday evening and the kevura in new York will be monday
Remember as a Bochur in Yeshiva the Kibud Av he had to his father that wasnt well for many years and took care of him 24/7 and still found time to learn , he used to Chazer long Mamorim from Samech-Vov by heart an hour or more at a time and beautifull and clear it was a a Geshmakk to sit and listen ,Veist Ois Men Vill Sheina Yiden Oiben Oich

What’s the message here????? Too many untimely tragedidies!!! We all need to figure out how to stop this!!
I know the family for over 25 years. He was a special man. His wife is a special wife. She lost her father, twin sister and husband in a space of 3 years. Hashem should give her strength!
Ps to note 19 he moved to la 31 years ago but I knew him from before it’s still 40 years
The world is dimmer today. A beacon of light and inspiration, Harav Hachossid R’ Menachem Mendel Labkowski will be missed more than anyone can imagine. Heavenly father, enough hurt and pain, too many orphans and widows. We need such human angel down here more than they’re needed above.
Klal Yisroel lost one of their greatest r’ Mendel was from the holiest of our generation the world and epically LA lost a tremendous chosid. His wife and beautiful family should have the Koach to follow in his steps and be zoche to moshiach bkarov and only simchas and no more Tzar. Ad mosai
