A True Inspiration!
March 5, 2017 11:34 am

Growing up in Montreal, Rabbi Chaim Meir OBM was a true inspiration, he was non judgmental, kind, well balanced, positive, to name a few. He always had a good word to say, or give you a smile. Always welcomed me back home when I came back to Montreal, and inquired how I and my family are doing. B”H i had the Zechus to see him when I was in Montreal just a little while ago. His Davening was legendary and heart felt, still rings in my ears every year! Seeing him Farbrenging on Purim, and many other times was a… Read more »

The grandfather Rabbi Chayim Mayer was the most honest, fun, understanding, sincere person – an extremely smart and wise man. I can honestly say in his company I felt happy always.

Yes, he did cry as he davened for the Amud on Motzoei Shabbos Selichos. i had the zechus of being there and davening with him for many years, as he was the shliach Tzibbur for Selichos, His Tefillos on Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur also werel davened with tears and heart! Even his Tefillos at the Amud on an ordinary Leil Shabbos Kodesh and also by Shabbos day ,was a pleasure to listen to.The loss is too enormous… Moshiach Now!

A Baal Tefillah full mit hartz

Reb Chaim Meir davened for the amud not only with his throat, but mostly with his heart. When you heard him daven, you could not help but be moved to tears! As a native of Montreal, i experienced this personally! The Rebbe brings in Hayom Yom that the reward in the next world is similar to what the person accomplished in Olom Hazeh. Therefore it reasons to say that Reb Chaim Minkowitz Z”L now in Shamayim, is again a Shaliach Tzibbur;this time however, for Klal Yisroel! I am certain he is now storming the heavens with his heartfelt Tefillos “Un vet oisbeten… Read more »

R’ Chaim Mayer was part of the real Montreal  Anash flavor, when you had the incredible mix of the Rusisher, Poilisher, yekesher, and more. It was something very special. (The Montreal Anash community is still very special and unique in many ways) How fortunate we were to have learned Nusach Hatfilo of Slichos, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur and more from R’ Chaim Mayer. I recall a specific episode that remained with me ever since. When R’ C”M was chazan on erev Y”K Shachris (the morning of Kol Nidrei, I don’t know if that was his custom every year) And… Read more »

Growing up in Montreal and having the opportunity to daven in Yeshiva, Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, I have tremendous memories of R’ Chaim Meir’s musof and kol nidrie (matter yona -to :)), filled with emotion, feeling and heart.
