Purim is definitely in the air at Seymour J. Abrams Cheder Lubavitch Preschool in Chicago! The preschool had their grand Rosh Chodesh Assembly. The children said pesukim, sang Purim songs and enjoyed fun activities to get into the Purim spirit. The children iced cookies, decorated masks and painted their faces. No one could recognize each other!
Mrs. Lakey Silber, Cheder Lubavitch preschool director, commented, “Watching the children at the face painting center is always fascinating. Children who would normally be afraid of masks and costumes overcome their fears when applying their own make up. They see that they can be made up and their friends can be made up, but it’s still themselves. They feel so empowered being able to use the make up on their own. The children spend at least 25 minutes just at that center!”
