Four exciting celebrations took place in Rostov, Russia this year in honor of Purim. On Friday, Erev Purim, the Ohr Avner School showed off their talents as they performed a spectacular Purim shpiel through song, dance and drama.
On Purim day, a special Purim seudah was held for seniors and veterans, where over 100 people enjoyed megillah reading, a humorous and entertaining Purim play, and brought home their own mishloach manot.
Another event for the students and young adults took place later on Purim day and was attended by 120 students. They played fun Purim games, enjoyed lively music and great food.
The community Purim party was attended by over 300 people of all ages. Following Megilla reading the kids enjoyed arts and crafts, face painting, and a competitive costume contest with great prizes. Afterwards kids and adults alike were fascinated by the bubble show. Adults too participated in their own “purim style competitions”. Everyone had a wonderful time participating in fun Purim games, and enjoyed live music and dancing.
