The Oholei Yosef Yitzchok Lubavitch school in Crown Heights held a gathering on Wednesday to dedicate its Girls Program in loving memory of Mrs. Gita Gansburg OBM.
An inspirational talk of Rabbi Shloma Majeski, the dean of Machon Chana, deeply touched the hearts of all participants. He explained the different stages that take place after the person’s passing and the significance of naming and dedicating a Mosad Chinuch in honor of that person, especially during shiva.
Mrs. Gansburg was appointed by the Rebbe to be the dorm mother at Machon Chana women’s institute, where she served for nearly 40 years with great devotion. She cared for all of the girls, many of whom were baalei Teshuva with no family in the neighborhood.
“Her deep dedication to the Rebbe’s work, intuition, enormous support, and profound understanding in Chabad Chinuch made establishment of our school possible,” shared Mila Shnaiderman, a Machon Chana alumnnus
Shnaiderman is one of the founders and directors of Oholei Yosef Yitzchok. She said her life “was significantly touched by dedicated care and the endlessly loving heart of Mrs. Gansburg.”
“She was able to advise and guide us through tough and challenging times as well as to rejoice and be delightful during our victories,” she said. “It’s a great loss for all who knew her and our hearts are full of pain. By dedicating our Girls Program to her we are continuing her legacy to True Chinuch Al Taharas Hakodesh.”
At the gathering, people shared with their precious memories of this special woman, who has touched the lives of so many.
“No words can describe the impact she had on all girls and their families who learned in Machon Chana,” said Shnaiderman. “She will always be the heart of Machon Chana.”

Mila, I’m so impressed with the school… Just researched it and wow!!!! You’re giving loads of nachas to Mrs Gansburg! It was so nice to hear Rabbi Majeski… He always has the right words, even at a difficult time like this! May he be gebenched!
Beautiful expression of appreciation in dedicating a classroom in Mrs. Gansburg’s memory. She was the ultimate pedagogue and is shining her nachas down on you! Thanks!
