In honor of Tes and Yud Kislev, students of HaMesivta of United Lubavitcher Yeshiva Ocean Parkway davened with the Mitteler Rebbe’s Sefer Torah.
The Sefer Torah is used in a Shul in Flatbush, where the Yeshiva went to daven Shachris.
Members of the shul related that the Sefer Torah was handed down for many generations but was eventually confiscated by the KGB in communist Russia.
The story goes that two Jews who worked for the KGB snuck the Torah away and gave it to a family who smuggled it out of Russia.
The kibudim were sold to the bochurim to the highest bidder for hundreds of hours of extra learning, said Rabbi Moshe Lieblich, head of HaMesivta.
If it will be in 770 who will protect it. Sad to say in 770 Sifrei Torah go missing and are not handled respectfully.
hamisivta is a great school it has hebrew and english and amazing teachers

If it is truely the Sefer Torah of the mittler Rebber y isn’t it @ 770 Eastern Pkwy Lubavitch world headquarters, in the Aron Kodesh like Moshiach Sefer Torah what is it doing in Flatbush & if we didn’t have it till now now that we got it, it belongs in the Aron Kodesh @ 770 & no where else. The answer that you can give is that there are some bochrim that if they are not given this chinuch, they would be “at risk” of falling off the wagon.
(the standard answer is a list of rabbonim who gave their brochois– not one of which sent their son here unless of course he is …. At risk

sorry hamesivta is NOT a school for at risk teens!! my son attends the school and he doesnt have at risk tendencies any more so than any other bochur attending other yehivas!! please think bb4 u write fictitous comments!!
