Davening may have gotten even more enjoyable at Bnos Chomesh, a girls high school in Crown Heights.
Their main davening and recreation area at their Brooklyn Avenue campus was recently renovated thanks to the generosity of developer and philanthropist R’ Yossi Popack and his wife Batsheva Popack.
“This newly renovated room has brought smiles all around,” staff reported. “Bnos Chomesh is known for the care of each and every student, and this shows how the community at large cares as well.”
The school was founded in 2007 by two idealistic educators – Mrs. Dena Gorkin and Mrs. Nechama Chanin – who saw the need for a small, warm and friendly school for teenage Chabad girls. The two have a combined experience of 60 years in education.
In addition to the Popacks, the school thanked Rabbi Zalman Shneur, Director of the Menachem Education Foundation (MEF), for his instrumental part in this project “and other support he and his wonderful team have given.”
“The Menachem Education Foundation is a wonderful example of educators working together for the good of our next generation,” they stated.
“Our goal is to provide a warm and nurturing school environment where each student can discover her individual strength, see beyond her challenges, and become a self-leader. Bnos Chomesh students are encouraged to excel in all areas, even if they have not attained success in their previous school experiences,” they added.
