It may be true, but his claim to fame is that he was the Gabbai and string puller of the “Beirach Moshe”, the father of the 2 current Satmar Rebbes. He was a VERY BIG decision maker back then.

Rabbi Friedman seems to be a big Yadin in Chasidus and a talmid chochom. Rabbis Yossi and Ari Chitrik are pillars in our community and in Tzfas. Rabbi Friedman was extremely impressed with their comments and demeanor. And now to what the satmar gabei related: Around 1970 Rabbi Chitrik OBM had just returned from the soviet Union. Rabbi Chitric Olov Hasholom, was a big lamden in Chasidus and in Nigla. He was a statesman with friends and associates all over the world.
Rabbi Friedman came to relate to the family a meeting he was present at between the previous Satmar Rebbe the Beirach Moishe Zatzal and Rabbi Chitrick A”H.
The niftar will be missed by Lubavich Chasidim as other Chasidim and Oylemeshe.
