The Amish frequently take the trains to NY and philly from Lancaster and do business there. They have ALOT of money and have investors all over the city. No Joke these people are loaded!

Look like Menonites

They look like Menonites. The truly frum Amish do not travel to NY from Lancaster. They mamesh drive a horse and buggy. There are some who would be driven in a car or bus to receive medical care but not to to another city to learn about another religion! The Amish women wear black bonnets not these white caps like the Mennonites.

awesome!

Is that really what counts? Did you let him know that? I think he is wise enough to know what he needs to tell these fine people

did he teach the sheva mitzvos?

Our kids don’t leave for lack of knowledge, they leave for lack or care, respect and love.

No one cares how much you know unless they know how much you care.

PS, If you really want to get kids to come, forget about the $10-$20 and just make both classes at the same time

so what's stopping you???

it seems everyone in crown heights would like to have Rabbi Friedman teach their teens who may be ‘questioning’ some things..

so why is this so hard to do?

Chevra……Gevalt!!!! There is a fire burning in our shchunah…..maybe he can help reduce it a little…..

There are no guarantees from anyone….but
this seems like a win win solution worth at least trying.

mechanchim….rebbeim….principals….call him and put it together!!!!!!

theres a show called breaking amish so the familys are all in new york (trying to get their kids back home to stop breaking the amish rules!)

this is really interesting and neat!
October 21, 2012 4:53 pm

but just curious why so many amish people keep coming through CH?

MY SUGGESTION! PAY THE KIDS!
October 21, 2012 4:19 pm

Some gvir should give $10 or $20 bucks to each of the precious kids who are “off the derech” – who can this way – be tempted to attend a lecture by Rabbi Friedman – given once a month – (one lecture for boys and one for girls each time), He will address some catchy, relevant area of yiddishkeit (personal, family, religious etc issues) – in the way that he knows how – in a way that he can bring down to earth so powerfully… and this may give inspiration and self esteem and understanding – to the precious “kids”… Read more »
