I know these girls. Their yirat Shamayim is inspiring. They are awesome, inspiring girls who will grow up to be amazing Jewish mothers and wives. They live in Israel, where it is normal to hitch rides and to wear pants under a skirt.

Tznius?????
June 14, 2010 8:20 pm

For those high and mighty-ers, posting about their lack of Tznius, in many parts of Eretz Yisroe-l- That would be the Holy Land- FRUM woman where pants under their skirts. Get put of your teeny, tiny confined little boxes about your ideas on Tznius. Tznius is the way you act, how you treat another Yid, how you talk, and many other aspects of our lives. Dissing another Yid, and feeling holier IS NOT TZNIUS!!!!!!!!

The Alter Rebbe writes in his Siddur1: It is proper to say before prayer, I hereby take upon myself to fulfill the mitzva – “Love your fellowman as yourself.” This means that the precept of ahavat yisrael2 is the entry-gate through which man can pass to stand before G-d to daven. By merit of that love the worshipper’s prayer is accepted.

Worry less about their tzniusness and what they are doing and more about what YOU can do to bring redemption-

Comment 30 is the be all end all. Maybe these negative commenters should worry less about what these two beautiful girls are doing, and why, and work harder on their own avodah to bring the ultimate redemption. In hashem’s eyes, it is possible these two neshama’s are far better off than your negative, angry, bitter and resentful one. Where is the ahavas yisroel? All of this judgement is the reason we are still waiting… not beacause yiddishe girls are standing on a street with signs trying to get to the grave of a tzaddik. And to think that anyone wonders… Read more »

so beautiful & true, should be posted twice.

“Brings me nachas…

…seems like they’re on a journey (in more ways than one:)), as all Yidden are, always – we’re all just in different places in our Yiddishkeit at different times in our lives. Glad to see their time/energy/focus/presence/kavanah on Yiddishkeit than on/doing much worse options/choices they could be spending their time on. Smart girls, too – knowing that being in C.H. they are more likely to get a ride from someone going to the ohel. Good for them (and us) to reach out, explore their Yiddishkeit, and try to connect! A’havat Yisrael. “

#1 if YOU are worried about safety, give them a ride or direct them to where they can get a ride.. your online mussar speeches are worth nothing if you dont translate it to action.,

On that note, why dont you contact the ohel admin to work out some info brochure on transportation?

Then again, why dont you drive them to the ohel if your that concerned ?

Really??
June 13, 2010 2:19 pm

I don’t post online, but felt like i need to for this one. One of the benefits in living in crown heights is that we meet all types of Jews, from “frum” lubavitchers, to friends of chabad, to 2 girls who sometime in their lifetime was inspired by the rebbe and want to go to the ohel. And as the matter of tznius goes… don’t tell me you haven’t been to manhattan and see women in pants, and more so….

safety?!!!!!!!!!!!
June 13, 2010 7:25 am

I guess these girls don’t realize that this is brooklyn where girls end up beaten up or dead or worse for doing stupid things like this…there are plenty of crazies out there who hurt girls…hitchhiking is stupid!!

June 12, 2010 11:47 pm

all you who are judging need to stop right now!!! you have no clue of their story or who they are, and if you do know who they are you are saying loshon hara! so stop now! whoever they are its beautiful that they want to go to the Ohel!

Thank You!
June 12, 2010 11:46 pm

That’s a creative way to get to the Ohel. I hope someone gave them a ride.

On that note, I would like to thank all the thoughtful people who stop to pick me and fellow bus riders up from Brooklyn and Empire and Empire and Flatbush Ave. It saves me so much time! You often have to wait 15-20 minutes for the bus plus it stops at every block. I really appreciate it!

girls do not belong standing on corners and hitch hicking no matter where they are goin. if you really want to go to the ohel, take the bus

June 12, 2010 10:49 pm

Needless to say it’s called hitchhiking and is common practice among backpackers in many parts of the world. Some of you people need to get out more often.

Why?????
June 12, 2010 10:34 pm

Thanks u # 13. if crownheights wud make it easier for out-of-towners to get to the ohel, then ppl wudnt have to do wat u think is crazy but for them is totally normal!! It has nothing to do with tzinius but y r ppl judging them badly?!?!

June 12, 2010 10:07 pm

Your all nuts, in israel and particularly in yehuda and shomron this is 110% normal… not everyone subscribes to your society norms..
