80 Chabad Shluchim and Shluchos and 120 of their children from the Delaware Valley gathered this past Thursday at the Glazier Jewish Center – Lubavitch of Bucks County in Newtown, PA.
The gathering was coordinated and hosted by Rabbi Yudy Shemtov, Executive Director of Lubavitch of Bucks County, under the guidance of Head Shliach of Philadelphia Rabbi Avraham Shemtov.
“Since Thanksgiving is always a slow time in Chabad Houses as people are busy observing their traditional holiday gatherings, we found this to be an opportune time for our families to gather,” Rabbi Yudy Shemtov said.
Being in a the year of Hakhel, a focus of the discussions was on creating community-wide Hakhel programming and to bring local Jewish communities together.
In addition to learning and dining, participants broke out into separate general sessions to discuss the specific Hakhel inspired programs and then broke out into smaller groups to address personal and more localized needs.
A simultaneous program was held for the children, followed by an inspirational seder niggunim led by Rabbi Mendel Levin for the Shluchim and their sons and with Mrs. Rivkah Weber for the Shluchos and their daughters.
Special thanks was given to Rabbi Eli Dovid Strasburg and all the Shluchim that helped out with coordinating the logistics of this annual get-together.
