Shliach Shlomo Bentolila, of the Chabad House of Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Africa, organized Pesach Seders thoughout Central Africa with the help of Merkos.
12 bochurim flew out from New York especially for the Pesach holiday.
The bochurim who came visited and assisted Jews in Nairobi, Kenya; Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire; Lagos, Nigeria; Accra, Ghana; Windhoek, Namibia; and for the first time in history in the Republic of Guinea and Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The bochurim were Chananya Rogalsky, Yossi Blasberg, Yaakov Berman, Yossi Bendet, Shmuel Hecht, Chezky Klein, Dovid Dinerman, Yosef Fine, Yisroel Uzan, Meir Shlomo Lubetsky, Yisroel Goldman, and Zalman Lazarus.
They spent their time visiting homes, offices and schools. They also prepared children for their bar mitzvah, and gave lectures on the Passover holiday.
Rabbi Shlomo Bentolila led a Birchas Hachama ceremony on the Congo River.
