Utah Governor Gary R. Herbert and his wife Jeanette Herbert hosted Rabbi Benny Zippel, along with 150 guests from Chabad Lubavitch of Utah, for a Menorah lighting ceremony at the Governor’s Mansion in Salt Lake City on Tuesday, December 20, 2011.
Governor Herbert lit the Shamash, and the Honorable Ambassador John Price (former US Ambassador to the Mauritius, Seychelles and Comoro Islands) lit the first candle.
Pianist Gershon Wachtel entertained the crowd in a delightful concert. After the ceremony and the concert, all participants enjoyed a scrumptious reception of jelly doughnuts and latkes in the Mansion’s formal Dining Room and visited with the Governor.
You say, “Good job!”, I say, “Well done!” Either way, Benny, you are brilliant! Cheers from the Commonwealth.
