Hi Boys and Girls! Welcome back to the Parsha Studio!
In this week’s Parsha, Parshas Emor, Hashem commands the Jewish people to observe various Yomim-Tovim. For instance, on the Yom Tov of Pesach, Hashem commanded the Jewish people to celebrate and remember the miracles He performed when they left Egypt. Similarly, the Yom Tov of Shavuos is observed to commemorate the giving of the Torah.
To usher in these special Yomim-Tovim, it is customary for women and girls to light candles to usher in the holiday, just as they do when welcoming Shabbos. Today, we’ll explore unique techniques to paint this portrait of a girl lighting candles using an inverted silhouette template and a sponge. You’ll be amazed to discover the versatility of a simple sponge, which can be used for much more than just cleaning dishes. Get ready to learn some cool new painting techniques and create a one-of-a-kind painting.
