The Early Learning Center at the Yeshiva if Pittsburgh values experiential learning. Parents were given the opportunity to experience that philosophy for themselves during a Curriculum Experience on Wednesday night.
Dozens of parents took part in the evening spearheaded by Mrs. Robin Meyerowitz, Director of Early Learning, where Math, Science, Literacy and Art were highlighted.
Parents had the opportunity to participate in early Math and Science skills such as graphing, sorting, patterning, weighing, and measuring. For Literacy, parents listened to poetry readings and were encouraged to write their own journal entries about Shabbos. Those journal entries along with their child’s writing will be on display in the school for all to enjoy.
Parents created tree-themed art projects using a variety of materials experiencing process-oriented art for themselves. These art projects will also be on display in the school along with their child’s and teacher’s art projects.
A short video, produced by Mrs. Chaya Sara Barrocas, Assistant Director of Early Childhood, and Mrs. Chaya Engle, Director of Special projects, was shown of the children engaged in these four areas of learning. Parents found that the evening was engaging, professional, informative and enjoyable.

It’s wonderful to see parents involved and enjoying such an engaging program ( and Bubby and Zeidy too, if I’m not mistaken)! Schools all over can learn a great deal from the Yeshiva in Pittsburgh.
